The Mercedes-AMG F1 W09 EQ Power+ - the car with which the Silver Arrows are aiming to clinch a fifth straight drivers’ and constructors’ championship double - has broken cover at Silverstone.
As in previous years, the world champions are combining their official car unveiling with an inaugural filming day shakedown of the new machine, just as Red Bull did with their new car.
As per the regulations, the team will be permitted to cover up to 100km over the course of the day, with the car running on demonstration tyres and Valtteri Bottas and Lewis Hamilton sharing stints behind the wheel.
Bottas had the honour of giving the new car its maiden run on Silverstone's International Circuit, with the latest Silver Arrow set to be introduced officially to the media at 12.10 UK time.
