What do McLaren’s newest upgrades tell us ahead of Monza?

On top of Hungary’s all-new floor, wakeboards and floor slots, McLaren brought to Zandvoort a new rear wing, engine cover, diffuser tweaks and new front wheel rims as further discrete performance items.
“The items aren’t linked as a package,” explained McLaren’s technical director Neil Houldey of the Zandvoort parts. “They all provide aero performance as individual components and don’t need each other to perform.”
This double hit of upgrades in consecutive races proved very powerful and helped Lando Norris to back-to-back Grand Prix victories, both of them from pole position.
