WATCH: Onboard with Hamilton as he sets the fastest ever lap at Istanbul Park
Lewis Hamilton set the pace with a blistering benchmark around Istanbul Park on the way to P1 in the second practice session on Friday.
The Mercedes driver's fastest time of 1m 23.804s put him over a tenth clear of Ferrari's Charles Leclerc and meant that the championship leader led both FP1 and FP2 to open the 2021 Turkish Grand Prix weekend.
FP2: Hamilton fends off Leclerc to set pace in second Turkish GP practice
And that lap is the fastest ever at Istanbul Park, with Hamilton having already beaten the previous record – belonging to Juan Pablo Montoya (2005) – in FP1.
