Hamilton started the sprint race in Turkey in seventh, but an early spin left him way down the order in P19.
It was here, though, that Hamilton showed his brilliance, carving his way steadily and intelligently through his rivals – including an aggressive Timo Glock, who’d play a key role in Hamilton becoming F1 champion two years later – to finish second, behind winner Andreas Zuber.
