WATCH: Esteban Ocon takes on the Rallye Monte-Carlo in an Alpine
Renault are becoming Alpine for the 2021 F1 season – and the team’s driver Esteban Ocon has been spending time exploring the French marque’s rallying roots, as he took to the stages of the 2021 Rallye Monte-Carlo in an Alpine A110S VIP course car.
Ocon tackled the first two stages of the rally – eventually won this year by his compatriot Sebastien Ogier – in the A110S, and clearly wasn’t in the mood to take things easy on the classic tarmac event.
“It's been a dream of mine to have a go at rallying,” said Ocon after the experience, “so to have a taste of it at a brilliant event like this was definitely special. The conditions were tricky but that all added to the experience and provided a fun challenge.”
