WATCH: Enjoy Charles Leclerc’s scintillating Sprint Pole lap around the Baku City Circuit
For the second time in as many days, it was Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc who was fastest on a single lap around the Baku City Circuit – the Monegasque claiming pole in the first ever Sprint Shootout, giving him P1 on the grid for Saturday afternoon’s Sprint.
Leclerc clocked a time of 1m 41.497s in the seven-minute SQ3 segment of the inaugural Sprint Shootout, to best Red Bull rival Sergio Perez by 0.468s, and put himself in the best possible position for the 100km Sprint around the Baku streets.

That feat came less than 24 hours after Leclerc went quickest in Friday’s qualifying session for Sunday’s Azerbaijan Grand Prix, as he provisionally looks set to line up alongside Verstappen in that encounter.
