Vettel says the car 'didn’t fit me today' after disappointing qualifying

The British Grand Prix weekend had been a pretty miserable affair for Sebastian Vettel and things didn’t improve in qualifying as the Ferrari driver could only manage a lowly 10th on the grid, admitting the SF1000 simply “didn’t fit me today”…
An intercooler problem robbed Vettel of any timed laps in first practice, and then he lost further running in FP2 with brake pedal issues. Brake issues appeared to hamper him in FP3, too, and collectively that starved him of any rhythm or confidence in the car heading into qualifying.

He made it into Q3, but lacked the pace of team mate Charles Leclerc – who ended up fourth, nine tenths of a second quicker – and had to settle for 10th. Having progressed to Q3 on the soft tyres, it means he’s on the backfoot on strategy for Sunday's race, too, as his main rivals are on the medium.
“I struggled to find the rhythm,” admitted Vettel. “The car was not too bad, but it didn’t fit me today. I was struggling yesterday with very little laps and this morning to get into the rhythm.
“We made it to Q3, but with the wrong tyre, and then we didn’t make enough progress in Q3, so not a good day. We have to start with the soft, which is probably not good news.
“Nevertheless, I’ll try everything I can tomorrow, we’ll see what we could get.”
