McLaren came away from Qatar licking their wounds after admitting they got their strategy wrong, allowing Max Verstappen to steal a march on Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris and grab the win.

Up until that point, Piastri had been in imperious form, topping every session of the Sprint weekend so far – and looking likely to conclude things with victory in the Grand Prix.
