Drivers will have two extra sets of tyres available to them for Friday practice at this weekend’s 2016 Formula 1 Belgian Grand Prix after Pirelli confirmed that they will be providing all teams with additional prototype tyres for testing purposes.
The Italian manufacturer says the unmarked rubber features modifications designed to further protect the tyres from the possible consequences of multiple accidental impacts with kerbs or other external bodies.
Pirelli will monitor data collected with the new tyres during FP1 and FP2.
