TEAM PROFILE: Can Alpine fight their way to the head of the midfield in 2022?
They finished fifth in the constructors’ standings in 2021, but having looked to kick on this season, things haven’t quite gone to plan for Alpine so far. Bad luck and some reliability woes have left them sixth in the constructors’ standings, with a best individual result of P6 achieved by Esteban Ocon in Saudi Arabia.
Fernando Alonso has been vocal in his belief that the A522 is a very quick car, and he even thought the front row was possible in qualifying back in Australia. Can they get on top of those reliability challenges and start to deliver the results their two-time champion driver clearly believes are possible?
