Before the race had even begun there were all sorts of high jinks, with Verstappen finding amusement in a practice spin, Charles Leclerc less so, while Carlos Sainz was confused to hear that he had debris behind him – before his engineer clarified that it was, in fact, Mercedes' FP1 driver Nyck de Vries.
