Raikkonen set for five-place grid drop
Kimi Raikkonen is expected to lose five places on the grid for Sunday’s Formula 1 Grand Prix de Monaco 2016, thanks to an unscheduled gearbox change on his Ferrari.
The team swapped Raikkonen’s box following this morning’s final free practice session, in which the Finn finished ninth - eight places down on team mate Sebastian Vettel, who clocked the fastest time.
The grid penalty arises as the original gearbox had not completed the six consecutive events required by the regulations.
