After Max Verstappen topped the time sheets in the Friday morning practice session at the Hungaroring, Mercedes turned the tables on the Red Bull driver as Valtteri Bottas went quickest in the afternoon.
Bottas just pipped his team mate Lewis Hamilton to top spot by 0.027s, with Verstappen just under three tenths off the Finn's session leading pace.

One noteable absence for most of the session was Yuki Tsunoda. The Japanese driver damaged his AlphaTauri after a spin in FP1 sent him into the barriers at Turn 4. Evidently the shunt caused a certain amount of damage to the car as his crew only managed to get him out in FP2 with a few minutes remaining on the clock.
