Lando Norris continued where he left off in Monaco by setting the pace during Friday’s first practice session for the Spanish Grand Prix, leading the way from Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton.
Norris worked his way down to a best time of 1m 13.718s on the soft compound tyres over the first hour of running at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, putting him 0.367s up on Verstappen.

Ferrari pair Hamilton and Charles Leclerc were next up in third and fourth respectively, as championship leader Oscar Piastri rounded out the top five positions in bright, warm weather conditions.
There were two ‘rookie’ drivers in action for the opening session of the weekend, with Ryo Hirakawa getting another run at Haas and taking a trip through the gravel, and F2 racer Victor Martins making his F1 weekend debut at Williams.
