HIGHLIGHTS: Watch the action from a Sprint overtaking extravaganza as Verstappen returns to winning ways in Austin
Max Verstappen was victorious for the first time since June, holding onto his pole position in the Austin Sprint to finish ahead of Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz and rival Lando Norris, who lost a place on the final lap.
Following a strong race start, the Red Bull driver led every lap as Norris rapidly improved from P4 to P2 but was unable to pass Verstappen over the 19 laps, ultimately getting overtaken by Sainz after an unfortunate lock-up on the last tour.

There was a tense battle between the two Ferrari competitors as they spent a number of the early laps side by side, with the Spaniard getting the better of Charles Leclerc. The duo also finished ahead of George Russell, who struggled after a poor start and eventually settled for P5.
Lewis Hamilton and the Haas duo of Kevin Magnussen and Nico Hulkenberg rounded out the top eight, the only points paying positions in the Sprint.
Although Sergio Perez and Oscar Piastri qualified out of position, both progressed through the field to cross the line in P9 and P10, although the latter was handed a five-second time penalty for forcing Pierre Gasly off track.
