In the final session before qualifying at the Italian Grand Prix, it was Mercedes who led the field as Lewis Hamilton and George Russell narrowly beat crowd favourite Charles Leclerc to the top of the timesheets.
Four different teams found themselves near the top positions throughout the session as Ferrari, McLaren, Williams and Mercedes all exchanged fastest lap times at the historic Monza circuit.

The bulk of the drivers tested out the soft tyre in preparation for the afternoon’s qualifying session, but it seems that at least five drivers could fight for pole position, with just 0.145s separating P1 and P5.
Elsewhere, the Williams pair of Alex Albon and rookie Franco Colapinto looked rapid as they topped the midfield in eighth and ninth.
