HIGHLIGHTS: Catch up on the action from Sprint Qualifying in Sao Paulo as Norris secures pole
Lando Norris will be joined on the front row by Mercedes' Kimi Antonelli for the penultimate Sprint of the season.
Lando Norris claimed his first Sprint pole of the season in Sao Paulo, beating Kimi Antonelli and his McLaren team mate Oscar Piastri to the top spot in a close-fought session.
The championship leader started the weekend in Brazil in the best way possible as he outqualified both of his standings rivals, with Max Verstappen settling for sixth position ahead of the 24-lap Sprint.
After the first runs of SQ3, Norris came out on top to take provisional pole over two rapid Mercedes drivers, while a touch of oversteer for Piastri saw him linger in P4 with just one more opportunity to improve.
The switch from medium to soft tyres proved a struggle and there were few major changes, with Norris marginally cutting down his lap time in the dying seconds while the Australian edged out George Russell for third.
There was a notable early exit for Ferrari’s Lewis Hamilton, who failed to make the top 10 after his team mate brought out the yellow flag with a spin in the final moments of SQ2.
