HIGHLIGHTS: Catch up on the action as Russell and Hamilton duel for win in thrilling Belgian Grand Prix

George Russell was hailed as the "tyre whisperer" by Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff as he beat team mate Lewis Hamilton in a thrilling Belgian Grand Prix, but the joy was short-lived after Russell was disqualified for an underweight car.

The younger Briton's one-stop strategy looked to have played out perfectly as he clung onto the lead at the end, having initially pitted for his hard tyres on lap 10 of the 44-lap race. But following a stewards' investigation, it was his older team mate who inherited the win.

McLaren's Oscar Piastri also threatened to have a say at the end of the race as he rapidly closed in on the Mercedes pair out front, but had to settle for third, which then became second after Russell's DSQ.

Max Verstappen, starting 11th due to an engine penalty, recovered to finish fourth with Lando Norris in fifth. Charles Leclerc, who had started on pole, came home in third with his team mate Carlos Sainz sixth. Sergio Perez would finish in seventh after his front-row start, though he did bag the fastest lap at the end.
