Switching the order of the top two from earlier in the day, Lando Norris got the better of Charles Leclerc in FP2, the first night session of the weekend in Singapore.
As the track conditions continued to evolve, Norris hit the top of the timesheets with a mighty lap of 1m 30.727s, just 0.058s ahead of the Monegasque driver as Carlos Sainz slotted in behind to complete the top three.
FP2: Norris edges out Leclerc as Russell crashes during second practice in Singapore
The RB pair of Yuki Tsunoda and Daniel Ricciardo came off the back of a strong first practice session to set the fourth and sixth fastest laps respectively, appearing to be the most comfortable midfield team on Friday.
Just as in FP1, Oscar Piastri was sandwiched by RB whilst McLaren’s championship rivals were forced to settle for P8 and P15, with Sergio Perez taking the role of the lead Red Bull.
There were plenty of near-misses as all 20 drivers pushed themselves to the limit, frequently grazing the wall or bumping over the kerbs around the track as the session came to a close when George Russell went nose-first into the barrier.
