F2: Camara handed Feature Race 2 victory as he leads championship after Baku

Rafael Camara inherited victory of the Feature Race 2 in Baku, allowing the young Brazilian to leave the weekend at the top of the Formula 2 drivers’ standings.

The Invicta Racing driver finished second on-the-road in Sunday’s race, but after Alexander Dunne’s five-second penalty took effect, Camara was promoted to P1.

Nikola Tsolov put in a storming performance of his own, finishing third after starting in 11th before being promoted to second.

The result means that Camara has a seven-point lead over Tsolov, with Dunne a further 11 points adrift.

Dunne followed up his victory in Feature Race 1 with another strong drive, having overtaken Rodin Motorsport team mate and pole man Martinius Stenshorne as the latter emerged from his pit stop.

However, Dunne’s penalty for crossing the white line at the pit entry dropped him to third in the final classification, ahead of Stenshorne, with TRIDENT’s Laurens van Hoepen in fifth.

PREMA Racing’s Mari Boya was sixth ahead of DAMS Lucas Oil driver Dino Beganovic.

Noel León finished in eighth ahead of Gabriele Minì, as Roman Bilinski rounded out the top 10.
