F2: Beganovic earns maiden win with dominant Sprint Race victory
Dino Beganovic came out on top during the first Formula 2 race of the weekend in Azerbaijan.

Dino Beganovic was in supreme form around the Baku City Circuit, controlling the Formula 2 Sprint Race from start to finish for his first win in the championship.
The Hitech TGR driver started second on the grid but immediately launched into the lead ahead of Turn 1.
From that point on, he managed two Safety Car restarts, built up an advantage over his closest pursuer on each occasion and went on to win by over six seconds at the chequered flag.
Beganovic’s team mate, Luke Browning, came from sixth on the grid to secure second place and a 1-2 for the Hitech team.
Fellow third-row starter Alexander Dunne joined them on the podium, going from seventh to third despite a mid-race lock-up at Turn 1 that handed what turned out to be second place back to Browning.
Jak Crawford made progress in the latter half of the Sprint Race to secure P4 for DAMS Lucas Oil, while championship leader Leonardo Fornaroli had to settle for fifth.
He pulled off a last-lap pass on compatriot Gabriele Minì for a top-five finish, while the PREMA Racing driver was further demoted on the run to the chequered flag by Richard Verschoor.
The Dutchman used DRS to clinch sixth place in a drag race to the line, while ART Grand Prix’s Victor Martins rounded out the points-paying positions in P8.
