F1 ACADEMY: Chambers masters Las Vegas streets to grab pole position while Pin and Weug struggle
The title fight will come down to the wire as Standings leaders Doriane Pin and Maya Weug both missed out on a top spot in Qualifying.

Red Bull Ford’s Chloe Chambers claimed her fourth pole position of the season under the lights in Las Vegas, beating the rookie pair of Alisha Palmowski and Alba Larsen in Qualifying for the series finale.
The American polesitter has started her last F1 ACADEMY race weekend in the perfect way, clocking a time of 2m 06.538s on her final lap to charge to the top spot with a 0.380s advantage over Palmowski.
For most of the session, it looked like the fight for pole would come down to Chambers and Pin, with the two repeatedly exchanging fastest laps in the cold temperatures.
However, when the Mercedes driver tried to make the most of a tow from her PREMA Racing team mate Tina Hausmann, she couldn’t find a way past at the important moment and was forced to settle for P4.
Her rival Maya Weug, who finds herself just nine points adrift in the Standings, was similarly unable to match Chambers’ rapid pace and ended up in fifth position, over two-tenths behind Pin’s effort.
Aston Martin-backed driver Hausmann took P6 at the chequered flag, followed by Emma Felbermayr and Nina Gademan, who secured the crucial reverse grid pole position. Racing Bulls’ Rafaela Ferreira and McLaren’s Ella Lloyd rounded out the top 10, with the latter narrowly avoiding the barriers in the final minutes.
Gademan will seek out her second victory of 2025 in Race 1, which will get underway at 1815 local time on Friday. In the meantime, you can read an in-depth report of F1 ACADEMY Qualifying in Las Vegas and catch up on the drivers’ reactions on the official website here.
