Valtteri Bottas is one of the most experienced operators in Formula 1, but nothing compares to the journey the 10-time Grand Prix winner is currently on with Cadillac.
Now in his 13th F1 season, the former Williams and Mercedes racer embarked on a brand-new adventure when he signed for the sport’s newest outfit after a year off the grid. In doing so he and similarly experienced team mate Sergio Perez became the first drivers ever to represent Cadillac in F1.
So far it has been a ride unlike any other, with Cadillac impressing plenty across the paddock with the way they have operated, given every day and race weekend brings a series of firsts for the US squad.
Now that their debut season has reached the halfway point with the arrival of the August break, Bottas took time out of his schedule at the Belgian Grand Prix weekend to reflect on how the campaign has panned out, why he appreciates life in F1 more now than ever and why his best years in the sport are still to come.
