When Audi were in need of a replacement for Team Principal Jonathan Wheatley, they didn't have to look very far. Allan McNish, who became their new Racing Director in time for the Miami Grand Prix earlier this month, had been with the brand in various guises for the last two decades.
That incredible association with the brand is why he sees the Audi F1 project as "part of me".
