Lando Norris produced a spectacular effort amid wet conditions to claim pole position during Sprint Qualifying at the Chinese Grand Prix, finishing more than a second clear of his nearest rival.
With rain arriving in SQ2, the final SQ3 phase saw the remaining 10 drivers bolt on intermediate tyres and battle it out for pole, with Norris ultimately producing a stunning benchmark time of 1m 57.940s.

That put the McLaren driver a whopping 1.2 seconds clear of Lewis Hamilton, while Fernando Alonso got the better of Max Verstappen to round out the top three places for the start of Saturday’s Sprint.
