Bottas to start Austrian Grand Prix from pit lane while Alonso receives a fresh power unit

After his Alpine failed to get off the line for Saturday's Sprint, Fernando Alonso has taken his fifth power unit of the season – while Valtteri Bottas will start the Austrian Grand Prix from the pit lane after parts were changed on his Alfa Romeo while in Parc Ferme.

Bottas finished 10th in the Sprint but but was already due to start from the back of the grid after taking fresh power unit components. Now, as the rear wing assembly and suspension set-up were changed on his Alfa Romeo in Parc Ferme, the Finn will begin the Grand Prix from the pit lane.

Due to an electrical problem, Alonso couldn't take the start of the Sprint, his car left static before the formation lap began, and was therefore set to start last for the Austrian Grand Prix.

Alpine have fitted a host of new power unit parts to his car for Sunday's race including a fifth internal combustion engine, fifth turbo, fifth MGU-H, fourth energy store, fourth control electronics and fifth exhaust for the season.
