Max Verstappen on pole with Lewis Hamilton second on the grid. The stage was set for a humdinger of a battle between the title protagonists at the Circuit of The Americas and that's exactly what we got.
Hamilton grabbed the lead into Turn 1, but then Verstappen and Red Bull pitted first to try to gain the tactical advantage. More pit stops and many laps later and the two men fighting for this world championship ended up just seconds apart on the track as the chequered flag neared.
