HIGHLIGHTS: Watch the action from the second practice session in Montreal, as Verstappen leads the Ferraris
Max Verstappen made it a double on the first day of running in Montreal, with the championship leader topping the timesheets of the second practice session at the Canadian Grand Prix.
Verstappen set a time of 1m 14.127s on the soft tyre, to lead the Ferraris of Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz, in second and third, by 0.081s and 0.225s respectively. It was another good session for Sebastian Vettel, in the Aston Martin, who finished in fourth.
Fernando Alonso followed up his P3 in FP1, by setting the fifth fastest lap of the session, ahead of Pierre Gasly in P6 and George Russell in seventh. The McLaren duo of Lando Norris and Daniel Ricciardo were closely matched in P8 and P9, with Esteban Ocon rounding out the top 10.
FP2: Verstappen pips Leclerc by 0.081s to sweep Friday practice sessions in Montreal
A sub-optimal soft tyre run for Sergio Perez left him down in 11th, two places ahead of Lewis Hamilton in P13. It was another tough Friday for Valtteri Bottas, who struggled with a mechanical issue on his Alfa Romeo and was confined to the garage for most of the session.
