Max Verstappen secured his eighth consecutive victory as he soared through from a P6 start to win the Belgian Grand Prix. The Red Bull man had been fastest in Friday’s qualifying, but didn’t let a five-place grid drop hamper his winning run on race day at Spa.
After jumping a couple of places on the first lap – aided by a Turn 1 collision between Oscar Piastri and Carlos Sainz that would force both drivers out of the race – Verstappen gradually picked his way to the front, overtaking team mate Sergio Perez on Lap 17 of the race after the Mexican had taken the lead from Charles Leclerc earlier on.

From there, Verstappen knuckled down and showcased his form as he led to the finish, even at one point requesting whether his team could do with any pit stop practice.
Perez rounded out the perfect day for Red Bull with a P2 finish, while Leclerc held on to secure third place for Ferrari.
