Esteban Ocon topped the final practice session ahead of the Sao Paulo Sprint – a 100km dash that sees Kevin Magnussen lead the field away on Friday evening at Interlagos.
FP2 saw Ocon set the fastest time of 1m 14.604s with Sergio Perez 0.184s off the pace for Red Bull and Mercedes' George Russell third by 0.312s – the top three setting their fastest laps on softs.
Fernando Alonso was fourth – albeit on mediums – and Red Bull's reigning champion Max Verstappen using softs to go fifth, a whisker away from the Alpine.
Lewis Hamilton and Pierre Gasly were up next on the board to leave Haas's Mick Schumacher eighth and his team mate Magnussen, who scored an incredible maiden pole position on Friday, in P9. Lando Norris rounded out the top 10 for McLaren, with Ferrari's Carlos Sainz 11th and Charles Leclerc 13th.
Williams's Nicholas Latifi had a brief off at Juncao while his temporary team mate Logan Sargeant gained a bonus Super Licence point as he completed 28 laps on the way to P20.
